"Lay Us Down (In Your Grave)"

Another midnight ramble wrote the other night. I consider it my personal "Desolation Row." I still want to add one more verse though before the last one.
.....................................

Lay down your guns
Lay down your sword
We are the children
Fighting to be born
We were brought up
And we were slaved
Then shot in the back
And laid in our grave

Lay down your heroin
Lay down you cocaine
Maybe if the Devil hadn't
Drove Woody Guthrie Insane
He'd still be here preaching
Reaching to the saved
Instead the Devil came and
Laid him in his grave

Still the world keeps moving
From day to day
What have we done wrong
To be laid in your grave

Lay down your crying
Lay down your sorrow
Soon today will
Bring us tomorrow
And all will be well
And you shall be changed
When they lay you down in
Someone else's grave

Lay down your bottle
Lay down your cigarette's
Or you will die young
And be laid to rest
Inside your coffin
You'll forever lay
Six feet under
Inside your grave

Still the world keeps moving
From day to day
What have we done wrong
To be laid in your grave

Lay down your troubles
Lay down your hate
For the children dying
Only war's to blame
Inside your heart lies
An undying pain
That won't be eased 'til
You're lying in your grave

Lay down your money
And your posessions
You won't find the answers
Without knowing the questions
You can keep on searching
For the eternal flame
You won't find life's meaning
'Til you're in your grave

Still the world keeps moving
From day to day
What have we done wrong
To be laid in your grave

Lay down your thoughts
Lay down your evil ways
Don't live for tomorrow
You must live today
Cause tomorrow's uncertain
Like the ocean's wave
It'll build you up just
To lay you in your grave

Lay down my mother
Lay down father
Lay down sister
Lay down my brother
You must always keep your faith
And on day you'll wake
And see the sun light
Shinning on your grave

Still the world keeps moving
From day to day
What have we done wrong
To be laid in your grave
"I'm a thief, and I dig it"

I like this one a lot, and there are some amazing rhymes in here.
I shouldn't have to fight a battle I'll never win, just to lose those I've never had.
