"Poor Young Girl Blues"

Summer has passed and the air's gettin' cold
Frost is building on my window
I watched the well
As the young girl fell
At the ripe young age of thirteen
With her blonde hair and legs hangin' long
In a matter of seconds she was gone
They say she was pushed
But I saw it well
That poor young girl she fell
Her friends say that they miss her much
But that young girl's life was rough
Waking up at dawn
Just to work on the farm
A child should not know a life of such
The cops on the scene were blinded to see
That the young girl was gone they won't believe
They tried to pretend
That nothing happened
But I remember well
That poor young girl she fell
Three young men were blamed for the deed
Of killing a child of thirteen
All because they were from
And outside town
Guilty was the verdict they found
I came clean with events unfoled
All the detail I had told 'em
"It wasn't these men
Who pushed her in the well,
That poor young girls just fell"
It made no difference to the cops on the scene
It was these men and only who done the deed
Their lives are ruined
Yet mine still lives on
Even though this young girl is gone
As the cold winter finally came to an end
I still think of those three men
Who'll spend their lives in jail
For a crime that is none
All because this young girl is gone
...............................................................
It sounds really good when I play it on guitar (in the key of Am)
I know it's kind of dark and I have no idea where I came up with the story but it was at 2:00 am and I just started to write. I like it.
