another year older with not much here to show
just more dashed hopes as if I did not know
that things could someday be different if only you ever tried
started to do so in the past 12 months, yet in the end I still cried
what does the world have waiting for this non omnipresent man
can he ever find happiness or is that just not in his plans
the future feels bleak just as my past was full of misery
yet trying to be positive, put an end to all this dark history
light some candles today, time to make some new wishes
live each day as well that you can, no regrets for those he misses
must learn to love and respect thy self
for in the end there may be no one else
be okay with that fact for who knows what might happen
this same time next year you might even be laughin
so this ends just another lonely night
celebrating my birth, before the morning light
happy birthday young man, your path to peace is ahead of you
today's just another off a calendar, don't ever forget that is true
