Would not inflict
A humiliation and degradation
Upon one made in it's image
I wonder if god had ALS at one time
Cancer, MS, Aids.......
Or any debilitating affliction
Surely the wait
For death isn't pleasant
Inevitable as it may be
To close your eyes on an eve
And be rid of this world
Would be a choice for anyone
So, why inflict anybody
With a suffering
So they can ask
Unanswered questions
Depend on others
Rather than the crutch of religion
To see them through their days
