Brought together
By one of two cicumstances
Being old, or being sick
I enjoy the walk down the hallway
Knowing that my smile
May be the only bright spot
In a rather routinely kind of day
Some days my hello gets answered
Other days, the same people just stare at me
Some tell of their days of yore
Others, just want to know how the weather is
Even the orderlies seem to find a smile
In their, rather routinely kind of day
Both parties show the wear and tear
That a nursing home can bring
My small part
On my way for my visit
Is to see everybody as my mother
Or father
Even myself in the future
To make them feel like a human being
With dignity
Once again
You've changed your place in this world!

  • That was fucking awesome, evenflow?!! You have one of the biggest hearts out there. :)
If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.
