Even though I download a lot of music, I'm a big fan of vinyl, especially punk records.

Some albums that fall into my "pride and joy" category:

Minor Threat - Out of Step
Hüsker Dü - New Day Rising
    Big Black - Atomizer
Big Black - Songs About Fucking
    Fugazi - Fugazi EP
"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"
  • Just got a couple new ones...both sound excellent

    Bob Marley ~ Exodus
Neil Young ~ Tonight's the Night
    Hartford 06
    Bonnaroo 08
    Hartford 08
    Mansfield I & II 08
    E.V. Boston I & II 08
  • I currently have on John Lennon's "Imagine" album spinning

Got a glorious surprise in the mail today. The thing is in absolute pristine condition, and bought the day of release.

    Yield!!!!!

First thing I notice, Ed's voice practically jumps off the record.

I nearly bought Zen Arcade on the day I bought New Day Rising but it was more expensive because it's a double album and I couldn't afford it :(

ehhh...zen arcade's overated anyway. New Day Rising is, in my opinion, the best husker du record.

Currently Spinning: STP's Purple, Radiohead's Amnesiac, and Pixies Bossanova....which sounds nicer on wax.

I have made multiple vinyl threads, a simple search might help you find those. I am not sure what my favorite is........just a few I enjoy though are Band On The Run, The Doors, Magical Mystery Tour
    Alpine Valley 2000
    Summerfest 2006

there's a reason this album is so expensive on the secondary market, it's a different experience completely from the digital recording, different production, different sounds, slight variations in the actual songs themselves.

I did a search for a few words in the title, and not much came up. You can have half the replies this one gets.

I would absolutely cream my jeans, if I could ever find a reasonably priced copy of Aenima. By reasonable, I mean less than a $200. It may be my favorite album ever. You really have me set on getting it now.

Evil Urges is perched atop my turntable right now. Just a damn good record.

Yeah, I bought my only copy about 5 years ago when I bought all the PJ stuff I didn't have. I gave $75 for it. I've worn it out and have been looking lately for another copy and haven't been able to find a used one for less than $250 and every sealed copy seems to fetch about $400 or more. Maybe if we get another tax stimulus check I'll buy a $400 unopened.
Every time I spin it I hear something new.
