Velvet Revolver's new singer??

Found this on Wikipedia -
'In a recent online interview Sorum revealed that the band is in negotiations with a "Big Name Singer", no names were released yet on who the singer might be.'
Do people have any idea or well-educated guesses?

Serj Tankian? I could see that maybe, if they took a less sleazy direction.

EV Solo Shows:
NYC I
NJPAC
I. LOVE. YIELD.
they both kinda suck to me.
Eh I dunno, he hasn't been the same since he had surgery in 2003. I thought he was awesome before that though.
EDIT: Actually, he did some shows with Camp Freddy which I think some of the VR guys are apart of, so it's a possibility.
I am a man, I am advanced.....I am the first man to borrow Stone's leather pants!
Patton is so over that style. It would be a huge step back for him.
That ex-fuel guy sounds about right for the job though.

WHAAHYEAH!!
It's true.
i would love to see Patton do a normal rock band again though. just not VR. They are a one trick pony.

He's busy doing Chickenfoot with Michael Anthony, Chad Smith, and Satriani
Yeah that sounds like something Patton would do.:D
To Patton fans: He's a fine singer, I just don't dig his style. And those crazy stupid noises, he makes, that his fans view as genius.........well, I bet when you heard the dude from Disturbed do it you mocked him.
VR, a one trick pony? How can a band have huge success with 2 different bands and be a one trick pony. If the members of VR are a one trick pony, then every rock band in history is.
They didn't ask him to join they asked to audition for them, that's even more ridiculous.
Except Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Fantomas, Tomahawk, and Peeping Tom
But otherwise, yeah....totally better.
Did you really just compare Patton's avant-garde albums to one guy saying "Ooo ah ah ah" 1 time?
Because all the songs sound the same.
You just answered your own question by calling "1 band"....."2 bands"
Once again, 1 band = 2 bands
Hence the members = 1 trick pony
Thank you for making my point for me.
I mistakenly left out the Korn mention, as well. Still, just b/c it's different, or it sucks, doesn't make it avant garde.
Slither, Fall to Pieces, Loving the Alien, Set Me Free sound quite a bit different and they don't really sound like anything you would hear on a GnR album. Even so, they're a mainstream rock band. If they are a one trick pony, so is everything you've ever heard on the radio.
Mike Patton is successful b/c of Epic and he has made a few good, hip(avant garde) friends in the business. Those fuckin jungle noises he makes are crap. It's not music, and from what I have seen of it, it doesnt take talent. Like I said, he is a fine singer, he's just not as good as most of his fans, apparently, think he is.
