Him

First off, I have loved this band since 2003 when I first heard them. Saw them live in 2004 and loved them then. I have to ask though, why is this band considered goth to most people? Or better yet, why do most of their fans fall into the goth category? I've seen kids with black hair, trenchcoats and black lipstick and shit wearing HIM shirts. Their music doesn't resemble the way their typical fans dress. Ville Valo is a tremendous songwriter and the band makes some of the best music I have ever heard. I can't figure out what musical category they belong. Is "great" a musical category cause that's my choice.

but really, Bam isn't the "goth" type that the op described.

and the band's music is somewhat "dark" which is what I guess attracts those fans, just guessing.

They have some good tunes, though I cant relate to the lyrics at all. The Sacrament, Bury Me Deep Inside, Join Me In Death, And Love Said No are all quality songs.

I believe the proper category for this band is similar to the one that groups such as NSync and The Backstreet boys are in. That is "shit".

I've been a fan since 1997. :D don't listen to them as much as I used to though, and when I do, it's mostly the older stuff that gets air-time. nevertheless, I like the band a lot.

and no, they're not goth. I don't know what category they fall into but does it really matter? and does it matter if some/most of their fans are goths?

ALSO, not all kids who wear black lipstick/nailpolish and "shit", are goth. ;) some just prefer to wear black clothes and have dark hair.

My daughter, Emaline, actually posted that other post. I was sitting here and she said she was going to post it.
Sorry if I (or she) offened anyone.
I don't know anything about HIM, never even heard anything by them.

These melodic metal bands are huge in Europe right now. This band called Nightwish is bigger than Jesus in Scandinavia.

You could have just edited the other post saying "nevermind" or something to that nature.

But anyway, I used to be big into HIM, but then they released Dark Light and I completely lost interest. I didn't even give a listen to their newest album.
