KOL to open dates for U2?

I heard a rumor, not from a magazine, etc. that Kings of Leon may open some dates for U2 when they start their next tour (spring?). That would definitely be cool, but I am not so sure about them playing a short set. If that is the case maybe they will do another solo tour as well.

I am sure that opening for U2 again (they did in 2005) would help them with US audiences though, especially after they release of Only By The Night.

    Now that they are playing arenas like MSG I highly doubt they need to open for U2 again

    There's no doubt they don't NEED to open for U2. However PJ has opened for U2, Kanye West has opened for U2, No Doubt has opened for U2. And this has all been after these artists were established.

    It's about exposing yourself to new audiences or doing it out of respect like PJ did.

    I totally hear you there, but MSG is the exception. Nowhere else in the country are they playing venues anywhere close to that capacity. Though it is just a rumor, I do see them expanding their fanbase considerably by opening for U2.

    opening for U2 is a privilage..I saw some of the greatest bands of our time with U2

    KoL
    The Pixies

    so I wouldnt mind it at all if they opened again
