I am beginning to start seriously trying to expand my vinyl collection. Other than Pearl Jam, what albums sound great on vinyl? Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

I generally find that albums that were mastered for vinyl sound better on vinyl and those mastered primarily for CDs sound better on CD. Most albums released on vinyl these days are done so for promotional/limited edition purposes rather than sonic fidelity and a CD really is the best way to hear them but if you want to hear Harvest for Neil Young, for example, the best possible way, vinyl is the only way to go.

Harvest is a good example actually. And After the Goldrush.

My favourite albums to listen to on vinyl are:

Minor Threat - Out of Step
Husker Du - New Day Rising
    Big Black - Atomizer
Big Black - Songs About Fucking (both of these greatly benefit from the added "warmth" since they have insanely trebly, harsh equalisation)
"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"

I would imagine any MMJ would be great but Okonokos would be incredible! :D

    Looks incredible too.

Say what you want about Tool, they put an effort into their artwork and the Lateralus gatefold, double vinyl is spectacular.

They all sound good on vinyl as long as the vinyl is clean and you have a good stereo.

What's the point? The CD sounds like a vinyl anyway :p

If you like the Beatles, get the blue BC-13 box set from 1978. It has all the original British albums in stereo made from the original stampers...puts the CD's to shame. Every serious music and vinyl collector should have that one.
