  • Cold Roses has my favourite Ryan Adams song......"How Do You Keep Love Alive" - a beautiful song with such poignant lyrics....

Haven't listened to this album for ages. I saw Ryan with the Cardinals in 2006 and the Cold Roses material rocked.
"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"
  • Cold Roses is also a far far better record than Easy Tiger.....

Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

Finally a Ryan Adams thread I can get behind!

This album changed my life - or at least the way I listen to music. After falling in love with Cold Roses I spent about 5 months listening to little more than Ryan Adams. And when I finally broke free of his hold I was opened up to the world of "alt-country."

Ryan's last couple album are only a shadow of what he was producing a few years ago, but without his influence I can't imagine all the great bands I would be missing out on right now.
