Mike's side. No contest. Middle can be quite tough because that's where everyone pushes in towards. Stone's side is a bit of a snooze compared to the awesomeness that is Jeff & Mike's.

But this is in the US, so it's generally seated.

Mikes side. He interacts with the audience WAY more then semi stoic Stone.

He also throws out a lot of pics.

I doubt it, but I'm from the UK anyways so I'm not 100% sure. Standing is better, imo.

I have watched Mike at shows and pretty much find that you can watch him play and be entertained the entire time. He is such a great musician and performer...particularly when he's appears to be in a good mood.

    not for festivals.
the OP asked about bonnaroo...that will be standing.

and, even at our "seated" gig....NO one sits! no worries about being crushed tho. haha. however, i think the *energy* given out by mike, and mike and jeff collectively....soooooooooooo good! i've been on stone's side, and yes he is wonderful, but he does not really interact. that's all. ahhhhhhhhh...someday to be in front of ed. *drifts off in thought* :D

I was on Stone's side for Lollapalooza and although it was great to see him upclose, because of the sound I missed basically every detail from Mike's solos. So I would suggest Mike's side or in the middle to get a blend.

At the seated gigs then, do you have a lot of personal space to stand in? Couldn't people just walk right to the front?

you have a decent amount of personal space, but it is all delineated by the seats. besides which, there is security, so no....you cannot walk to the front. sure, perhaps there are some who may sneak by, etc....although doubtful. also, for front row, even at seated gig, they get wristbands, so more than likely...would never make it to the front w/o it. overall, the seats manily act as parameters to keep the crowds seperate and uncrushed.

Ahh, okay. The only thing I don't like about the seating idea is that your seats depend on your 10C number. But I suppose they do the random draw thing now, so anybody could end up at the front.
