    Thanks for making this thread. His songs and words are still relevant to my life after all these years. What a wonderful singer and artist! I remember he died around the same time as the girl from TLC did, and his story got a LOT less attention because of that I think. Such a shame.

    The first "grunge"/"Seattle 4" album I've ever bought was AIC's self-titled Tripod cassette tape(Layne wrote 8 songs on it).

    I still have it, and to this day I credit that album for making me a Pearl Jam fan. Thanks Layne, and happy birthday.
