I just recently went to my 100th concert and I was curious how many concerts other people have been to. I've noticed here and on antsmarching.org that a lot of people have seen pj and dmb a lot of times. I'm just wondering what other bands you have seen.

Heres a link to my list of bands seen and # of times seen

Very cool site. I actually joined and started to input concerts, but it's way too much info for me to put in as we're old and have been to hundreds of concerts. :) I can't even remember the concerts I've been to, let alone the ones my husband has. :)

  • started going to shows about 25 years ago now..seen some great bands and some not so great. I actually save the ticket/ticket stubs from every show and save them in a business card holder/folder thing. In the last 10 years I've tried to keep track of bands at clubs I have seen as support acts..many club shows don't have hard tickets, or they kept the whole ticket etc.

Still..been lucky to have seen things from as wide a range as Miles Davis to Alice in Chains to Journey (w/steve perry) to the Grateful Dead....

even at age 38 I average about 20 shows per year.

Of mention this year alone, Explosions in the Sky, Dead Meadow, REM, Stevie Wonder, Pearl Jam, Eddie Solo, Boris, Dianogah, My Morning Jacket, Sigur ros, Murder By Death, No Age..and I took my 9 year old to the Cheetah Girls..for the second time.

Sorry, I started going to shows in 1973. During college years we saw a band at least every 2 weeks. I'll put a list together if I have a day to spare.

oh god, I'm not listing them all.

There's approximately 40 ticket stubs on my wall right now, that's maybe half of the tickets from all the bigger shows I've gone to. So lets average those out to 2 bands a night (and that's probably being modest). That's 160 bands. Some of them are repeats, so we'll say around 100.

I've been to one Coachella, one Bonnaroo and 15 Winnipeg Folk Festivals and a few other one day festivals. The Folk Festivals I mainly went to when I was younger and maybe saw like 4 bands a day. That works out to about 240 acts. Again, lots of repeats, so lets say 150 different acts. Bonnaroo, I saw 25 bands, 18 of which I had never seen before. Coachella, I saw 14 acts I had never seen before. So there's a total of 182 bands. Add in the one day festivals, it's over 200.

Then if we include bar shows, I probably have average about one every week and a half for the last four years. That's about 150 shows. Usually there's about 4 bands playing, a lot of the time it's a band I've seen before and a few I haven't. I'll estimate that I've seen about 300 different bands in various bars.

Well now, lets total that up.

    Total shows = a little under 300
    Total bands = a little under 600

remember, these are all estimates, but they should be pretty close. If I had the time, I could name well over 300 of those bands.

Not too shabby considering other than the Folk Festivals, my first concert was in 1998.
