    Also, the band, Ruby (Lesley Rankine) was pretty good.

    Yikes. I dunno.

    I think Heart and The Pretenders have to be way high up there for all their efforts. Joan Jett should get some cred too. Used to be in love with Blondie & Debbie Harry, as well, so?

    I think my favorite female album was probably Live Through This by Hole, but i'm loathe to say that given ole Courtney and her antics. I just love the agression melted with Kurts pop sense on that album. But that's all Hole ever got right, imho.

    First band that came to mind was Veruca Salt. "American Thighs" is an amazing record.

    i really like Ladytron and Tilly & The Wall for some reason (not normally the kind of stuff i listen to).....not rock-bands as such, but worth a look.

    overall vote goes to L7 or The Pretenders
