Les Claypool

God this guy is a genius. Listening to Frog Brigade-Ding Dang...geez does this song KICK ASS. Anyone who likes Primus I highly reccomend getting ANYTHING else he did. His basslines are absolutely ridiculous. I was always a big Primus fan since I was about 14 but I've sort of matured and started gradually accepting his solo work. I actually prefer his solo work now over Primus. Some of my favorite songs are One Better, Of Whales and Woe, Rumble of The Diesel...... yea you get the picture.
Check out this bass line....

Absolutely insane bass line, who comes up with that????? Just when you think creativity in music is gone, you hear Les Claypool come up with these ridiculous songs.

Oysterhead: Claypool, Trey Anastasio, Steward Copeland from The Police (orgasmic trio)
Colonol Claypool Bucket of Bernie Brains: Claypool, Buckethead, Brain (2nd primus drummer) and Bernie Worrell (keyboardist)
His new solo album takes getting used to but I love it.

but more than the studio output, see him live. do yourself a favor and go to a live gig. you will not be dissapointed. just watching him seemingly effortlessly strumming the bass is worth admission price alone.
as with all musicians worth a shit, he is worlds better live.
