Are they really a band or just another Mike side project?

Also add the coolest singer/beat-boxer/ptoducer/artist known as Patton, Mike to the list of the good P's.

Also don't forget the little purple dude, Prince :D

Smaller known but some of my favorites beyond whats already been said.

I've always wondered the same thing about bands and the letter "P". Good call

  • "S"'s can be tough as well.

OK, I think the title says GREAT...we've gone a bit overboard with this list dont you think? ;)

PJ, Pink Floyd, Phish, Pantera might be the only ones considered GREAT. the rest maybe good, not sure about great.

You said you wouldn't consider PJ or Pink Floyd "great" yet you listed Sleather Kinney was one of the "great" 'S' bands. S-K is an opening band for PJ, how is possible for them to be "greater" than PJ. You lost me there. Plus, the Pumpkins, Sundays, Strokes, Snow Patrol, Stereolab on that S list? I think you're full of BS!

I MUCH prefer EVERY band on that list to Pink Floyd (whom I find insanely DULL) and the vast majority of them I prefer over Pearl Jam.......while the bands you mentioned may not be my all time favorites (with the exception of Stereolab - who are freakin incredible) they are "S" bands whom I enjoy/enjoyed immensely.......sorry

being an opening band hardly precludes a band from being "great".....Sonic Youth opened for Pearl Jam and they are one of the greatest band of all time IMO (in fact - they kick the crap out of Pearl Jam......sorry, again)
