    I hate Political Music
  • This sounds like every other song Zach has ever done in his entire career.

    Yeah, wars and rich people...gotcha.

Has this guy never been in love? or had an original idea for a song?

    pretty sweet huh? ;)

some musicians need to evolve for me to enjoy them & some need to keep on doing what they do best.

i don't want zach to tell me how his heart is aching, i want him to tell me to Testify! And kick in The Township Rebellion! :D:cool:

it would be for Zack. that is the point.

    Every song..."Corporations"...."Greed"...."Oil"..."Racism"...

He's the Angus Young of lyrics.

Dude, if Zack started singing love songs...he'd be a laughingstock.

  • more than for cranking out the same thing over and over again?

i only respect artists who are willing to take chances.

he just stays in his safe little box and it's not very revolutionary of him.

Agree! That voice just brings up feelings of, well, rage. And that's what I wanna hear from him. Not some sappy love song or whatever...

Heard the song on myspace the other day - kinda digging it. I'll definitely check out the album when it comes out.

    Thanks. :)
It's just clear where some people's loyalties lie. Most Chris fans really hate Zack and vice versa. I love both! Therefore there is no bias when I say that Zack's new material kicks the shit into Chris'.

    Album leaked, check out Vietnow.org

To be honest, I think it's pretty shit. The keyboards just completley ruin it. If you're going to try for the heavy guitar sound, then just use a guitar. The drums are fantastic, and Rocha has some fucking fantastic lyrics as usual (although it will take him some time to beat the soon-to-be-classic "she's doing 90 in a residential zone" from his old rival Cornell). But it's nothing on Rage. I'm glad we've finally got to listen to some of it though.

And isn't this EP "taking a chance?" Cranking out a new Rage album that sounded like Battle Of LA would surely be doing the same old thing. But this EP isn't exactly the most accessible of music. You're not going to find guest spots with Timbaland here.

Well, it's a lot better than Cornell.....

and you like Rage Against The Machine.

Clearly. Ever listened to Evil Empire, Battle Of Los Angeles?
After listening to the whole of One Day As A Lion, I like it. Zack's rapping style has certainly evolved; there's more of a "pitch" to it. Bodes well for a new Rage album. :D

Definitely lookin' forward to hearing his new stuff...I like the fact that he's staying true to himself and his passions. He's not a self-indulging artcreep who always feels like his work must "evolve"...he's an activist....always in your face...PERIOD.
  • I purchased it and enjoyed it thoroughly.

Not a big fan...it's not bad, just kinda same-y throughout. I guess I was hoping for a little more synergy, given the participants.
  • I enjoy it, listened to it a few times through. I'm just happy to hear more drumming from John. I'm a huge Mars Volta fan, and John Theodore fan. I like what he did with this ep.
