In response to the Coldplay plagarism suit

With that last thread that brought up the lawsuit between Coldplay and Joe Satriani, I couldn't help but think of something similar. Remember this gripe from '98? The artists mentioned that they thought a certain 90's band we all like was ripping them off, but never filed a lawsuit. They just made their thoughts public, which is a more appropriate thing to do:

Also, there's something to be said for copying an instrumentalist's tune- because that's all he has.
COLDPLAY SUCKS!!!
Looked at the sheet music for both, and there's not much similarity at all. First off, the rhythm is completely different...
I think alot of people that scream "THIEF" in a crowded room never even bother to LOOK at the music. Not listen, look. That's how I know Satriani is 100% full of shit, and he's a good enough musician to know this. The two songs play off each other like oil and water. But, some idiot on youtube grabs the one piece of the song that plays off Coldplay's song well and welds it together. So, every singer who uses those notes and sings at about 130BPM, that lead is going to sound pretty similiar.
Of course it sounds good and similiar, because it's the same notes and it's musically "correct". Take the whole songs from note 1 to note last and it's another story.
