well first off all i gotta say ...i am a big strokes fan...had is this it...
before it was cool to have it...but it seems to me...
that they were used and that the same thing is kinda what will happen to artic monkeys...and other future bands
  • I don't think we should assume that AM or The Strokes are unwilling victims of NME's arse-licking. I'm sure they're loving the arse-licking. I'm sure it's mutual, musical arse-licking.

Anyway, not that I actually care about either band, but would someone mind spelling 'Arctic' right? Please? It has a 'c' in it. Thanks.

The next time someone says 'ARTIC' to me, I'm going to punch them.

Arctics are not the new strokes

    they are so much better

    strokes=OVERRATED
  • the strokes changed a little (for the better IMO) "music" magazines don't like it when bands change
"Well, I think this band is incapable of sucking."

  • A Pitchfork or (insert popular music magazine or website here) review is basically saying.. "On a scale of 1-5, here's how trendy this band is right now".

With that position in mind the patterns you drew attention to make a lot of sense.

Yeah, I think their last album was pretty good. They changed somewhat drastically from their old sound which is gonna help keep them around.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs & Kings of Leon did the same thing with better albums.

kings of leon last album is the best from them...but they got 5.4 on pitchfork...
bands today dont get a change to evolve!!!!
  • The Strokes are a much better band imo.....The Arctic Monkey's don't interest me one bit. The Strokes are beginning to broaden their horizon, and I see nothing but good things and a long career for them.

"Kings of Leon dropped 3.5 on the trendy scale @ pitchfork.com" :p:D

Good. fuck pitchfork. "Because of the Times" is the best record of the year. Yes better than Zeitgeist by my favorite band.

I dont even love The Strokes but The Arctic Monkeys have nothing on them.......they are easily the most overrated band in history, I still cant believe that so many people and critics love a band with this little talent

Yeah the Arctic monkeys have a few ok riffs here and there but more than anything remind me of a shitty Libertines, and isn't that what babyshambles is there for?
