Metallica Ripping Off Echo Beach???

This has not been reported to my knowledege anywhere, but I just was listening to Metallica - The Day That Never Comes and said to my boyfriend that it sounds like Echo Beach by Martha and the Muffins. He looked at me like I was crazy. He dug out his 45 of Echo Beach and if you slow down the intro music to that song it sounds like the new Metallica song starting at :49 secs

am I crazy? Anybody else? keep in mind we have it on vinyl so we just slowed it down and it sounds very very similar. not identical but funny nonetheless. :)

    Not really close on paper. I would love to have a Guitar Pro of the other song to screw around with, but looking at the tabs, it's not really close. A couple of the notes that ring out are similiar.
