anyways.. yeah this is exciting! great track. anyone else read the track info?

go to nin.com may 5th! what could it be? new website, more tour dates, new album.. omg the suspense is killing me! anyways, i never noticed that itunes had a lyrics tab for songs till now~

I was less than impressed with this song, but i'll give it a few more listens. Wasn't impressed with Ghosts at all either...

And I am a HUGE NIN fan. Ah well.

I'm wondering if Discipline is a With Teeth outtake. Trent has stated that he had several songs that didn't make the final tracklisting on WT. Unlike Fragile, he was trying to keep it short and sweet and avoid a long album. I think even Dave Grohl has mentioned that his favorate songs he did for WT didn't make it.

The music is very reminiscent of that album. Defintely not YZ. Sounds like a combination of Only and Hand that Feeds. Plus the lyrics are an obvious reference to the struggles of drug addiction. WT was loaded with it, but I just don't think Trent would revisit that topic again in his writing. Could this be an EP of outtakes like Non-Entity and Home??

Yep. He's free of contract, so he'll probably just release new stuff randomly as he sees fit now. Very cool stuff.

The song is great, and I love the direction he's taking. He has definitely re-defined the NIN sound.

It is indeed a great time to be a NIN fan. Seems like every time I turn around lately Trent has something new for us. He's really showing what can happen with the freedom from a record label. I wonder how many other bands are paying attention to this, I know the labels have got to be nervous.

Anyone have any numbers as to how many copies of "Ghosts" were sold?

it's probably about his battle with alcoholism. think this is a With Teeth outtake.

you know it's weird.. when i read the lyrics, it almost was like he was writing to the fans that think his intensity has wanned a bit.

but after reading it once or twice more, it does look like he is writing about some sort of addiction. not sure about the alcohol theory, i am thinking more like heroine. "I see you left a mark, up and down my skin".

maybe its just about addiction in general. it can probably be applied to an addiction to anything.

when he says he needs discipline, i think he is saying he needs someones help to get him out/through his situation. addicts are usually in a state of denial until someone really close to them confronts them and offers support.
