    Here's a suggestion: don't listen to them.
I pledge to you a government that will not only work well, but wisely, its ability to act tempered by prudence, and its willingness to do good, balanced by the knowledge that government is never more dangerous than when our desire to have it help us blinds us to its great power to harm us.

  • I love Stay Positive. Lord, I'm Discouraged is a masterpiece.
Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.

Thanks for your input, but I always like to do a little music research before I got see a show. I'm going to see DBT in November and they're the HL, so I figured I'd check them out.

For the other two posts- thank you. I'll check them out :)

which shows are you going to?I'm hitting them in Seattle and Portland, I'm worried a bit that DBT will have a short set which will mean more new (read shitty) tracks but as for THS boys and girls is the most accessible about Separation Sunday is a fucking masterpiece. They are as good a band as there is right now, almost killed me is amazing and stay positive is pretty great but the two genius moments in their catalogue are separation sunday and boys and girls, I'd put them both in my top 5 of the decade

Tallahassee, FL. I can't wait! The venue has a really excellent sound system, so it should be cool. But I do wish that DBT were the headliners

The first three tracks on "Boys & Girls In America", if you can't get into those(which you might not be able to with Finn's "singing" style), then give up.
  • Boys and Girls in America is the best place to start. It's a fantastic album, but make sure you give it at least 5 listens. Also, listen to it loud and drink a few brews whilst doing so.

Then proceed in this order: Separation Sunday, Stay Positive, Almost Killed Me
"I'll do whatever the song dictates - if it doesn't need a real lead, then I won't do one. But if it does, then I'll fuckin' go off." - Mike

"Japan is awesome; the fans there knew all the words to all the songs...at least phonetically." - Stone

"I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version." - EV

I'd agree with this as it was their most recent before Stay Positive came out. That's the only cd I knew when I saw them and they ended playing a lot from it and the show was FAB+. I always go with the current stuff and work backwards, when learning new bands.

I've read that this tour is a coheadling tour so the DBT and HS trade nights in which they are opening/closing. I also read that each band gets and 75-90mins max. It's gonna be great!

Sounds like I might have to pick up Separation Sunday.

While I'm not able to see the tour...I'm also interested in suggestions.

I've heard Sequestered in Memphis and thought it was quite good.
