What ever happened to these guys? I just saw a live performance by them at the end of a Mad TV episode on Comedy Central while flipping through the channels.

I looked them up on myspace and of course they have a page and are still touring. Anyone ever seen them live? Are they worth checking out?

Well since it's just Art in the band now I'm not sure you can really call it Everclear any more.

Their first few albums were good, I loved Sparkle and Fade when it came out. I saw them about 10 years ago and they were excellent, but it's been a long time, and Art seems intent on releasing 'quirky' and 'funny' songs these days, so I've not really got much interest.

Had to dig this one out for the old times: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=8QhyXD27SRQ

I think they are touring and I seem to remember hearing about an album of cover songs that came out this year.

I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

Sparkle and Fade was great to me back in the day, but after they released the disc with the smiley face on it (don't even remember what is was called) they pretty much disappeared to me.

haha- I think they released two albums like that- just different colors. The only reason I even know that is because I used to work at a used CD store

They went downhill after "So Much for the Afterglow".....and now are just a shadow since Art is all that's left.

  • I still listen to Sparkle And Fade pretty regularly, but that's about the extent of it. Saw them waaaaayyyy back when that album came out and they were pretty good. Not so sure anymore though....

  • The last I heard of them was a small college tour in '06 to promote the last album (which was Art and four new guys from what I remember). I seem to remember he went bankrupt a few years back and had to sign away the rights to the back catalogue of the original Everclear to pay off debts. Personally I was never a big fan of Sparkle and Fade and much preferred So Much For The Afterglow, but they had a lot of decent tracks over the years so the Best of Cd was a nice cheap pick up.
