I remember earlier this year Shawn Smith sent out an email and said that 2008 was going to be a busy year- but then again, PJ did the same thing. Anyway, we haven't heard anything from these guys in awhile. Anyone know when Best Friends will be released? A tour will be announced?

    Shawn Smith does.

I don't think he does! When asked about it in York this year he said it was all done and they were just waiting for Stone to get it released - or words to that effect.

Pretty much. There appears to be some disagreement as to how to release the record. They haven't landed a distribution deal and I believe it's Stone that's opposed to a digital release.

it surprises me they don't have a distribution deal, brad vs satchel was distributed through EMI here in NZ. sure it was a bit average, but a NEW brad album is a different kettle of fish. mind you, times are tough for the major record companies right now (deservedly so), hopefully one of the minors will pick up the album.

i'm craving some new brad, but i'd rather have a physical release than digital, hopefully sooner rather than later

    I agree 100%! I'm hoping with a release we will also get a tour- I'm predicting March-April 2009

I haven't seen them live since 1997- been WAY too long
