Drowning Pool Off The Road
Friday, Dec 7, 2007 12:23PM

Drowning Pool Bassist Stevie Benton was taken to a hospital early this morning suffering from facial paralysis.
Benton began to feel ill during last night's performance at Stone's Throw in Eau Claire, Wis. After the show, he was rushed to the Luther Midelfort Hospital where he was diagnosed him with Bell's Palsy, which causes paralysis of the face and sometimes sensitivity to sound.
In most cases the disease is temporary and resolves on its own. Doctors have ordered Benton off the road for a minimum of six weeks.
The remaing dates on Drowning Pool's This Is For The Soldiers Tour, which has been donating money to the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America and the USO, have been canceled.
"I'm really bummed that because of this, we can't perform this last string of shows," says Benton, "I want to thank the fans for their continued support and believe me when I say we can't wait to come back and rock out with you all again soon."

Well i'm not a fan of drowing pool, but that sucks for their bass player hopefullly he will be okay. Also sucks for the fans with tickets that is always a bummmer.

I think it is cool they are donating some money from the tour to the vets. I gain a little respect for them for doing that.

That band really have no luck do they? Didn't the original singer die?

  • I think I read that they're on their third singer.
It is time to admit that we used to rock like hurricanes. It is time to run for the hills and go round and round. It is time for us to shout at the devil. We've got the right to choose it, there ain't no way we'll lose it, and we're not gonna take it anymore.
