    great idea
but Id rather see it as a summertime double bill
starting at 5pm so we get full shows from each
  • that would be great.
    I like bands.
  • personally i don't like wilco. so i don't think it would be a good idea. wilco would be better than my morning jacket though.
My whole life looked like a picture of a sunny day.

I love Wilco, but I don't know if both there music would flow well together. I would rather just go to a Wilco show and a PJ show, but I would never complain if they toured as a unit.

    I love opening bands.

But.....I'd like to see PJ have no opener on the tour. :)

i don't see it happening. i think wilco is probably a bigger band and a bigger draw at this point.

    Um, not even close.
They might be more popular with the kids in a general sense, but they are not a bigger draw in any sense. When was the last time Wilco toured arenas? The answer of course is never. They did MSG with the Flaming Lips for New Years one year, but of course that's not a tour. Pearl Jam did it last month and has been doing it consistently for 15 years.

I love both bands, and it sounds like a cool idea to see them both in one night, but of course we'd be seeing shorter sets. Might be some cool collaborations though.
Using the word "methinks" in your message board posts doesn't make you look smart.

Unless it's a double-bill kind of thing, I don't see that happening. Over the last few albums Wilco has graduated to headliner status, and they don't really open for anybody these days.

i'v been listening to these guys lately.
they are the real deal, might be too good to be an opening act at this stage of their careers.

that'll never happen. With the exception of MMJ I have never liked any of PJ's openers enough to go buy an album. Sonic Youth, blah. Sleater Kinney, yuck. Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, gag. The Buzzcocks, pretty decent, but still didn't buy an album. Gob Roberts, nasty. Death Cab, boring but tolerable. Sparta, mediocre. I'm probably missing a few that I've seen, but MMJ was the only one that blew me away....and their so big now, that we'll never get them again.

don't think it'll happen though. while wilco's not as big as pearl jam, they're too big to open for pearl jam

Sounds great in theory, but I think a "co-headline" would be more appropriate.

Wilco? I'd still be in the parking lot.

Now, if they brought along Blind Melon.... :)
I love to turn you on

Wilco is too good to be opening. And the 2 bands don't really match up well. Most Pearl Jam fans are too apish to like a band like Wilco.

i heard that wilco will be opening up for neil young this fall. doesn't get much better than that!

    Don't tease!

Seriously, I would kill for those tickets.

it would be great..if like someone noted it were to start at 4 or 5pm and give bands the ample set times they deserve. Neither are really a support act....let em rip. I'd be there..
