very good band but even though they got some radioplay from "Stars" they're just one of those bands that never broke through.

    Great band

one of those bands that wasn't destined to be huge but instead influence and remain highly respected by all.
“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”

Whoa, I had "Stars" playing in my head a few minutes ago.

She thinks she missed the train to Mars, she's out back counting stars

I actually like The Pod more than Stars.

Hum would be my favorite band ever if they weren't lacking in the quantity area. Quality is DEFINITELY better than quantity in this case, though. Fillet Show is awful. Different singer=douchebag. You'd Prefer An Astronaut and Downward Is Heavenward are 2 of the best albums of the 90's. Puppets/Aphids is good, too.

My favorite is probably I Hate It, Too...and then, Thin Green Line. I love the way it builds.

Downward is Heavenward is probably one of my 10 fave albums of all time. They were gone way too soon. I think they did a couple of one off shows 4 years or so ago, but nothing on the horizon for a comeback.

"She said you can find a space between my arms if you will stay,
like if we ignore the systems,
they'll just blink out and quickly go away......

And moonlight brings me back again this day,
and I don't feel a thing here anymore.
The strings of information slowing to a stop,
the tether's end is slipping from its knot, I'm stretching out in two."

"We're two points collapsing, supercharged from the storm.
Sun drenched in our faces, too deformed.
Bliss with intent to see us peeling locust skins from the locust tree.
Hang on to these places she says to me.
Clearly in this afternoon, clearly we will have to turn and come home soon.
She fell into me a point collapsing with her lovely face in the snow.
The mission could be corrupted, and we wouldn't know."

"I'm thinking of your failing green eyes, smiling as they greet the day, but they can't see me. And now I'm picturing us opening wide, and drinking down our days in haze and bliss together til it tumbles aside, but I just sit and wait for a rhythm in a perfect little thin green line, it's true, so soon.

(and the coil speaks) I'd like to see us together, I'd like to lay my head low. I need to lean on a soft one, and bring the spin of the world to appear slow. (and the coil sleeps) You've been gathering angels, and fading further each day. I love you now as I never, remember my face as it quietly make you're way. "

"I took a simple time to wander,
    engaging twilight through the trees.
And she needs help among the kelp-ways,
and I'm not tied to these, no I'm not tied to these...

I know a girl who makes me shine,
my dreamboat's leaving on a submarine,
she packed a second set of tanks and a solar powered lung for me."
"I'm not present, I'm a drug that makes you dream"

Fillet Show sucks. They had a different singer then. Electra 2000 is awesome. You could tell that they were gonna be awesome. Shovel and Iron Clad Lou are my faves off that album. Then came You'd Prefer An Astronaut and then Downward Is Heavenward.

Like Jack the Bass Player, I don't know much about this band. However, Stars is sublime.

Always liked Stars but never heard any of the other stuff. Off to do some searching...
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.
