Anyone ever hear anything by Black Mountain? I was reading about them in the latest Rolling Stone and they sound interesting. Of course the reviews from RS can be way off sometimes.

Someone recommended it to me in a different thread, sampled some iTunes and liked them. I also read the 2 articles in the RS I got today and I am now more intrigued, they sound pretty interesting. The new album doesn't come out for a few more weeks I think, but you can download Tyrant from the website. I will be picking up a full album soon.
man the entire album is great.... like an indie rock band meets black sabbath/the doors. really awesome. my favorite is Faulty Times

The Druganaut EP is a must have, just for the extended version of Druganaut. The album version is too short.
Speaking of the longer tunes, they shift tempos and musical themes to keep the songs from dragging. Good stuff all around.
I wanted to but couldn't go. I'm really liking "In the Future". Very cool and trippy music.
"Sitting on a cornflake, waiting for the van to come...."
Black Mountain make their national television debut on Late Night with Conan O'Brien on Thursday, February 21. The band will take a break from their tour to share a track from their new album in living rooms across the nation.
Yeah I saw them last night .......looked like they were coming out of a time warp from 1975 .......kind of reminds me of Wolfmother with the retro feel to their music. Have you seen them before?
So, I got in from my trip around 11:30 central time last night and flipped over to watch conan, saw they were on and stayed up to watch. They do look like they just stepped out of a time machine...the chick is a chunkier version of Grace Slick!
Anyway, its good stuff I say, so check 'em out
They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all
AWESOME

I'm with you, they finished in Bristol with Bright Lights, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz I swear I nearly fell asleep. Other than that song they were really infectious, such an excellent fuzzy sound they made, the keyboard player was essential to the overall sound, well I suppose they all were. Top band, apart from....that one
Here's a couple of shots of the Bristol gig.

its so true... a few highlights of the show.. stormy high is a brilliant opener and dont run our hearts around to finish the main set was fucking epic.. seriously though as a encore closer they should something a bit more poppy honestly .... Modern Music would be awesome

This was a tiny venue and you could hear all these people yelling out for Bright Lights, I was thinking "wtf is wrong with you?" It started up and I leaned back on this post, then I thought "better put this beer down before you drop it matey"...I swear I was in a semi-trance kinda sleep by the end of it, still standing, it had been an awfully long day mind :)
They're headlining one night of a festival near my home, in August, I'm looking forward to seeing them again.
hey, pretty decent shots, from a phone camera you say? Not bad at all.
