i'm a fan of wilco, not a huge fanatic but i own a couple albums and enjoy them a lot. that being said they seem like a band that is nice to listen to on record but might be kind of boring to see live. but since i like them so much i'm considering checking them out this summer because they are playing a venue relatively close to where i live. anyone ever seen them live? if so, how are they?

I'd say they are about 1000 times better live than on record (not that the records are bad). Check out Kicking Television Live in Chicago for proof.
Using the word "methinks" in your message board posts doesn't make you look smart.

I have taken two casual fans to concerts with me and made them into fanatics.

Generally they are very good live. Plus you get to hear Nels live and Nels RULES!

  • I've seen them 4 times and agree with the comments about them being better live. Plus, they're totally accessible after every show. I've been able to get my picture with Jeff every time and most of the other guys as well if you care about that sorta thing.

Nels Cline. He's been playing guitar with them since 2004.

speaking of tickets, did any of you order your tickets from tickets today purchased during the pre-sale, and if so have you received them yet?

I ordered red bank and hammerstein, but have not received them yet.

got mine for Atlanta a couple weeks ago. It was about a month before the date but it took a long time to get them. I got an email saying they were coming then a few days latter they showed up.
