Yup. That would be a pretty good 20 track sampler of my music tastes.
"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"

Is that the same 'I See a Darkness' that Johnny Cash does on American 3? That's brilliant.
'We're learning songs for baby Jesus' birthday. His mum and dad were Merry and Joseph. He had a bed made of clay and the three kings bought him Gold, Frankenstein and Merv as presents.'

Yeah, Johnny covered it. Billy is the guy who sings backing vocals on Cash's version. The original trounces it in my opinion, and I still like the Cash version. The whole I see a Darkness album is amazing. Terribly bleak but brilliant.

"well I hope that someday, buddy
we have peace in our lives
    together or apart
    alone or with our wives
then we can stop our whoring
    and pull the smiles inside
    and light it up forever
    and never go to sleep
    my best unbeaten brother
    this isn't all I see,
oh no, I see a Darkness"

    It's just awesome.

Well with the knowledge of the awesomeness of cash's version, and your recommendation, I might purchase it. Is it HMV material?

Tillman is fucking amazing. Minor Works is one of the best songs I've ever heard.

Amazing song. It's so easy when you hear his voice and the stories about him to just assume that he isn't really all there in the head but some of his lyrics have startling meaning behind them.
