'You know my name' - any thoughts on The Cornell's latest track?

When i heard chris was doing the theme tune for the latest Bond, i was pretty surprised and not particularly looking forward to it - it elt like it would possibly becme too commercial, and considering he's following in the footsteps of Madonna, it didnt look too hopeful for me.

but i have to say i really love the track. The first time i heard it was when i went to the cinema to see Casino Royale, and i was just blown away...i even held my friends back to listen to it again in the credits...

I also heard he'll be releasing another solo album possibly early next year, and its meant to be more acoustic (?) than Euphoria Morning...what do people think?

HAving said that, what do people think about Euphoria Morning?

Euphoria Morning was great. He should have stayed solo instead of make that sissy-rock music with Audioslave.
  • Euphoria Morning was brilliant, as will be his next venture.

Totally agreed with the fact that Chris Cornell should have stayed sober. The album is so underrated

You mock Audioslave for being "sissy-rock," yet you like CC's quintessential sissy-rock record, Euphoria Morning... interesting...

I'll give his solo album a listen, but my expectations are low. The guy has just been a face in the crowd since Soundgarden broke up... it's a cliche, but it's true. Euphoria Morning was average, and Audioslave is decent. So I don't expect the new album to blow me away or anything.

  • This song was the worst part of the otherwise fantastic new Bond movie. I hated every second of it and could not stop laughing when it was played again at the end credits.

EM was average if you didn't like the style.

If you get past how different it is your opinion might match that of almost everyone who's heard the record..

I too enjoyed it more than any Audioslave song. Can't wait for the second solo album.

...or maybe it's actually not a matter of me not "getting past how different it is"... maybe, by some crazy chance, I just don't like it that much. Who would've guessed? :)

Euphoria Morning is perhaps, hands down, the MOST underrated record ever recorded. Absolutely amazing. Cornell is an absolutely genius singer/songwriter. Thinking there may be another solo record from this amazing talent has me VERY excited.

  • i really like the song and it fitted in perfectly with the intro the movie....btw its the best bond movie since the connery days IMO.

euphoria morning has some good songs but is flawed and gets a little dreary. There is no sonmg on that album as good as Seasons from the songles soundtrack..............his new bond song just sounds like standard rock fare...................I dont think Cornell has been a king since superinknown (even that contained the stinker BlackHoleSun!!!)

Oh please. Give me a legitimate reason why Black Hole Sun sucks. "It was a radio single" isn't a legitimate reason, btw.

But Black Hole Sun is pretty much the epitome of Soundgarden's career post-Badmotorfinger. I just don't see how you can like the rest of Superunknown and still not like Black Hole Sun. It's not one of my favorites, but it is damn good.

Yeah well. To each their own. Blow Up the Outside World is actually one of my favorites.

the new-bond euphoria that Casino Royal created caugth me and i went to the cinema to watch it and it was great movie i must say, a great action-thriller... nice humor thrown in the mix and some emotions which i liked and the franchise is going to a really good direction and a risky one i must say but i think if they continue in this fashion they'll make something good and appreciated by movie fans in general not just by Bond fans ... this new one seems more real, more emotional and raw... thats why i loved it...

and CC being part of it made me love it even more , i love the song... and i must admit its a grower... first time i heard it i just liked it... after one week i love it and almost listen to it everyday... great to sing along to and very nice lyrics also....

Euphoria Morning is great album wheater someone wants to admit it and i cant wait for his new solo album... till then i feed myself with his bootleg from Sweden i think, where he plays acoustic songs and sounds amazing...
