When was the last time there was a Beatles thread?
I could listen to them everyday of my life and never understand how amazing they were. And they are so fun to sing along to.
Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you're gone away

    mistery over I guess..

I read the news today oh boy
About a lucky man who made the grade
And though the news was rather sad
Well I just had to laugh
    I saw the photograph
He blew his mind out in a car
He didn’t notice that the lights had changed
A crowd of people stood and stared
    They’d seen his face before
    Nobody was really sure
If he was from the House of Lords.
I saw a film today oh boy
The English Army had just won the war
A crowd of people turned away
But I just had to look
    Having read the book.
I’d love to turn you on
Woke up, got out of bed,
Dragged a comb across my head
Found my way downstairs and drank a cup,
And looking up I noticed I was late.
Found my coat and grabbed my hat
Made the bus in seconds flat
Found my way upstairs and had a smoke,
And somebody spoke and I went into a dream
I heard the news today oh boy
Four thousand holes in Blackburn, Lancashire
And though the holes were rather small
They had to count them all
Not they know how many holes it takes
    To fill the Albert Hall.
I’d love to turn you on.

We were talking - about the space between us all
And the people - who hide themselves behind a wall of illusion
Never glimpse the truth - then it’s far too late - when they pass away.
We were talking - about the love we could all share - when we find it
To try our best to hold it there - with our love
With our love - we could save the world - if they only knew.
Try to realize it’s all within yourself
No-one else can make you change
And to see you’re really only very small,
And life flows on within you and without you.
We were talking - about the love that’s gone so cold and the people,
Who gain the world and lose their soul -
They don’t know - they can’t see - are you one of them?
When you’ve seen beyond yourself -
Then you may find peace of mind, is waiting there -
And the time will come when you see we’re all one,
And life flows on within you and without you.....I think I could cry....lol

Have you listened to Love? It is a crazy sort of re-mix that was released in 2000 or something. But it is fun.

"And Your Bird Can Sing" is the greatest thing they ever did

    Your quote is hysterical.
Wait, should we all be meeting up on some Beatles board somewhere?

It's getting hard to be someone but it all works out. It doesn't matter much to me.
Really. Does it get any better?

I agree, the more I listen to them, the more I don't know how they are so amazing.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

I remember being a little girl and being given the album where one was blue and one was red? I got the blue one. The record. I have it somewhere. And I was thinking, cool. Now I think COOL!
I found a copy of Sgt Peppers, complete with the uncut paper dolls at a thrift shop for a dollar years ago. I love paper dolls. :)

that love record was just released november 2006, done for the cirque de soleil (sp?) thing. the remixed recordings sounded great, i hope they do all the real records proper.

Not sure how this thread got past the goalie, but I'll resurrect it. Beatles fan here. Not the biggest fan in the world, but more than the casual. I have a framed Abbey Road LP hanging in the stairway on the way down to my basement. My kids know about 50 Beatles songs, but they can't fathom that those 4 guys walking across the street in the picture are the same ones singing.

Their current favorite - Golden Slumber trilogy. Awesome tune(s).
I love to turn you on
