Everytime someone starts a ‘best album’ thread, they almost always say “you can’t choose any best of/greatset hits or live albums”.
Well, here you can !!

What shall we say, top 5 ? Top 10 if you like. No studio albums remember!
Just Best of, Greatest Hits, Live, B-Sides, Rarities….etc etc

I’ll start with:

REM – And I Feel Fine
Pearl Jam – State College May 3rd 2003
Alice In Chains – Unplugged
Neil Young & Crazy Horse – Weld
Smashing Pumpkins – Pisces Iscariot

Anyone else?!
Cymru Am Byth

PJ albums, at the moment!! -
1,Vs 2,Vitalogy 3,No Code 4,Yield 5,Ten 6,Backspacer, 7Pearl Jam 8,Binaural 9,Riot Act.

    placebo
    rush- spirit of radio
    afghan wigs
    beatles 1
    neil young- greatest hits
    stp
    pearl jam
rem- i feel fine AND in time

those are recent standouts for me. i have a lot of compilations and love them. but it's tough to do a compilation well i think. some try to re-write history and some have glaring omissions. pearl jam did a pretty bang up job of wrapping up every song the casual fan would like to hear. so do the above as far as im concerned. but a truly great comp does more. the best ones are just killer after killer and suck you in. not only do those have all the right songs, they are, on their own, pretty compelling listens that encapsulate the best qualities of the band.
  • I bought a Stevie Wonder greatest hits a couple of years ago

Amen to all of you who picked this. I love this cd, and have probably listened to it 200 times since it came out last fall.

I like the 2 disc Queen hits collection and Buddy Holly's Greatest Hits
