Anybody familiar with his music?...it is very mellow.
Maybe too mellow for most of you, but I really think it's something different.
I have a weird bond with his music..some of the songs hit me over and over again on the right spot, others just don't do it for me. It is hard to listen to his whole cd at once.
But the song which I cannot get enough of is "Crosses"...fantastic lyrics and a haunting way of playing acoustic guitar...love it.

Lyrics Crosses:

Don't you know that I'll be around to guide you
Through your weakest moments to leave them behind you
Returning nightmares only shadows
We'll cast some light and you'll be alright
We'll cast some light and you'll be alright for now

Crosses all over, heavy on your shoulders
The sirens inside you waiting to step forward
Disturbing silence darkens you sight
We'll cast some light and you'll be alright
We'll cast some light and you'll be alright for now

Crosses all over the boulevard

The streets outside your window overflooded
People staring, they know you've been broken
Repeatedly reminded by the looks on their faces
Ignore them tonight and you'll be alright
We'll cast some light and you'll be alright

Why not be mediocre and be the best at it that you can be?

LOVE Crosses. I was happy to see this thread. :)
We’ll meet again, but not yet…not yet.
  • Jose Gonzales keeps me chilled out on the daily commute at the moment. Chills, lovely voice.

Jose Gonzalez is an incredible talent. It's BLASPHEMY to compare him to Jack Johnson; the man sounds like he's playing music in his sleep.

OK, it's not blasphemy, just a bit silly. Love Jose Gonzalez.
'We're learning songs for baby Jesus' birthday. His mum and dad were Merry and Joseph. He had a bed made of clay and the three kings bought him Gold, Frankenstein and Merv as presents.'

I agree that he is a much more talented songwriter.

when i'm in mellow mood music Jack also gets played....... its not music you can lsiten to every day in any situation unless you are a total pussy and have a pulse near flatline

actually, now that i think about what you said I wasn't making a comparison between the two at all.......but a comparison in the type of mood i have to be in to listen to these guys.

hooray for heartbeats....the original version by "the knife" is good times as well! but i love jose's take on the song. his album is sooooo good...i'm glad to hear that other people enjoy it as well. but i definitely have to be in the mood to listen to it...not an every day thing.
yes...i do feel like a human. i do not feel like a tree.

love Jose as well, can't wait for his new record, especially if it's got the covers he played when I saw him months ago, Massive Attack's Teardrop and (REALLY) Bronski Beat's Smalltown Boy
