Hey so I got a question for you all..

I recently aquired a bin of 30 or so records(for free) and they had been in a flood at one point. Now my question is, how do I clean them, they are playing okay but they(sleeves mostly) stink of must. Do I toss the sleaves and clean the vinyl and just stick them in some mylar sleeves? No sure what to do as my vinyls are not musty and are all in good shape. What would I use to clean the vinyl with?

thanks
Thats a lovely accent you have. New Jersey?

Guitar center has some stuff too if you have one of those around. JUst be careful not to use regular spray solvents, If you have to go chaep some warm soapy water would probably be best, just try not to embed shit in the grooves but scrubbing it into the groove.

ditch the moldy sleeves and order some new ones online. If the outer sleeve is moldly then at least put the vinyl in a plastic bag. I wouldn't tell you to dump the album cover, but if it smells that bad it may be needed. JUst take a picture of it cuz that mold smell never goes away. I have several old art books and it just annoys the fuck out of me smelling it. But at least with a lp you play that somewhere else and can lay the smelly case somewhere else.

enjoy the shit out of them
