I've finally reached this decision after listening to it regularly for 16 years.

Depending on the mood "King For a Day" or "Angel Dust" top a lot of great bands' best albums.

Plus a special mention to Peeping Tom which contains some pretty good songs.

    Peeping Tom = Genius

Mr Bungle = the fine line between genius and insanity...

Agreed. Mr Bungle does a real balance act there all the time. Sometimes genius, other times just insanity. Preferably within 10 seconds of the same song. :) Love California though.

And Angel Dust is without doubt the best FNM album. And thus, one of the best of all time. :)

Great album but a couple of duds on the album (RV & Smaller and Smaller) mean 'The Real Thing' is my own personal fav FNM album. King For A Day and Album of the Year are decent if not upto the standard of the previous Patton FMN albums.

Also saw FNM open for Billy Idol for The Real Thing @ Lake Compounce amusement park and met Mike Patton before the show

    Great, great album.

A Small Victory is my favourite song from it.
"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"

It was a ridiculously good show. I saw it at the Palace Theater in Albany, NY.

  • This album makes me feel like I need to "sneak" a listen to it occasionally because i am so not worthy to listen to such greatness.
