has anyone seen 'em?

i said to my wife today, 'hey...weezer's around next week. wanna go see 'em?' she said, 'at the very least it should be silly.'

so...is my wife right? would weezer be 'silly' to see?
i don't necessarily mean 'silly' in a completely negative tone, i just mean they're so much more 'poppy' than anyone we've gone to see.

anyway, thoughts...?

    thanks for that.

we saw the foos the last time they were in chicago and had a helluva time.
i just can't help but think these guys have something that's a bit different than i've heard before.

    thanks...

  • Sorry to throw a wrench into the loop, but I wasn't all that impressed with them. I saw them At Cochella a couple of years ago when they were touring "Make Believe". It seemed half assed to me.

I saw them on the co headline tour they did with Foo fighters a few years ago 2005 I think.

Weezer was pretty good live. Of course I am a casual Weezer fan and so with the set being a "Greatest hits" setlist with some "Make Believe" thrown in there, I thought the set was great. You can tell Weezer have fun up there on stage. They are goofy but you can tell they havefun with what they do. The music was pretty close to cd quality too. :D They even randomly pulled some guy on stage from the first few rows and let him play guitar on "the sweater song." I was glad they played 2 Pinkerton songs cause that is my favorite album of theirs and I didn't think they liked playing stuff off it. It was a fun show. I left impressed, and had a better respect for Weezer afterwords.

  • i've heard a lot of bad things about them, but i've never saw them live.
  • seen Weezer 3 times now (twice at Roseland in 2005 and at MSG last week) and they were terrific each time. Casual Weezer fan (have all of the albums - waited years to attend a show) and was a bit hesitant myself at first but they did not disappoint. Highly recommended.
  • I saw Weezer open for the Pixies in '05. At the time, I knew Weezer's albums but wasn't a diehard fan and I knew only a few of the Pixies' better known songs.

Let's just say I'm now a diehard Pixies fan and Weezer...I don't even really remember much about their show--it wasn't anything special, especially coming before a band as incredible live as the Pixies!
  • Seen them a couple of times at festivals, they were great fun.

Me Too! Saw them back at the World in Tinley Park. It was a great show, had a lot of fun. Me and my buddies were certainly the older part of the crowd.

No waiting for beer, most of the fans were too young to drink!
