Anyone love this stuff as much as I do?

Without a doubt the most interesting rock that modern day music has to offer.

Some great bands include:

ISIS
Rosetta
Cult of Luna
Pelican
Neurosis
Kayo Dot
Jesu
Red Sparowes

love every band on your list outside of Rosetta and Cult of Luna (only because I haven't heard them). I have been obsessing over this type of music for quite sometime.

CD's that I have been playing...a lot include

Alcest - Souveniers D'un Autre Monde. I feel like a broken record as I mention this CD every single chance I get. I have been in love with it for the greater part of the past year and a half. Fucking stunning. Jesu would be the closest band in your list that this would remind you of. More post-rock/shoegaze than the others listed.

Earth - The Bees Made Honey in the Lions Skull
Om - Conference of the Birds
    Nadja - Touched

I can't get into the latest Kayo Dot though. I have given it a pretty good shot.

Would you consider Witchcraft or The Sword part of this genre? If so, I dig it.
Do you remember Rock & Roll Radio?
  • earth - "bees made honey in the lion's skull" has been absolutely blowing my mind for the last week. that and "lysol" by Melvins are essential for this kind of music.
  • I would like to add -

    Mono
    Russian Circles
    Shels
    Sunn O)))
    Battle of Mice

    Good Thread!

    Definitely.

And for those who haven't checked out Rosetta yet, I strongly recommend them (Especially if you're an ISIS fan).

    Corrupted

Sunno O))) - saw them do an absolutely crushing show on the Black 1 tour

Khanate - not around anymore but their music is still amazing...the one time I saw them, the drummer was hitting his drums so hard he splintered several sticks which flew into the crowd
