Who else is a fan of this awesome band?

Their new album, The Blackening, was released earlier this month and it's just kickass.

Through the Ashes Of Empires & The Blackening = epic albums.

For me, this is metal when it's done right!

Definitely one of the best metal bands around today (along with Mastodon).

Any takers?

    I don't know....I just can't seem to get into Machine Head. Once upon a time I owned "The Burning Red" (which, from what I understand, is their WORST album), and have heard some other stuff from them, including one song off of the new album. It just doesn't seem to click with me. Maybe I need to hear some more, but in the meantime, I'll just keep rockin out to my new Mastodon CD....

    The Blackening is absolutely incredible. IMO, its their best piece of work to date. Long, epic songs with phenomenal soloing. Can't beat it.
