The absolute pinnacle of straight-up blues rock is the Allman Brother's Band At Fillmore East.
"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"
The Black Keys
Rose Hill Drive (they have some shows on archive.org)
Humble Pie (Check out Rockin the Fillmore)
Dead Meadow (A little obscure and psychedelic)
And there are much better songs on that album than Remedy
By far the best album. I saw the Black Crowes in 2006 at a small club, the night before my b-day. (The following day I say Reverend Horton Heat awesome weekend!) I drank heavily, the music just made me want to drink and feel Chris's pain. To me that was the blues. But going back to why I commented on this post. The first time I saw them was on Southern Harmony Tour and they did not have the back up singers which I think would had been tremendous. But by far just an amazing introduction to a band, so beyond their first album. That is my favorite Black Crowes album just amazing.
Thanks for that Jamie.Stunning track from an incredible band, from their best album.Although hear the new release later this year is supposed to be great.Who says white men can't dance?lol Chris has the sexiest moves,he is hot hot hot.
Other great hard rock blues can be heard through Free and Paul Rodgers solo stuff.I feel an often forgotten great rock band.

Grady: http://www.shadygrady.net On the bottom of the page is a player that streams three songs from their 2nd album Cup of Cold Poison. If you click on the music link you can download two tunes from their first album Y. U. So Shady.
Alvin Youngblood Hart: Motivational Speaker is a phenominal album with the most erie and badass version of In My Time of Dying you will here. Quite a different vibe than Zeppelin's version.
North Mississippi Allstars are probably right up your alley. Their first album Shake Hands With Shorty is phenominal, and their most recent album Hernando is some heavy blues rock too. Just stay away from Polaris for a while. It's a pretty bad pop/blues experiment, with only a handful of good tracks (All Along, Conan, Never In All My Days).
Steepwater Band: Badass blues band out of Chicago. Lots of wicked slide guitar going on there. Check out Revelation Sunday.
Thanks a lot for the suggestions guys, I'll have a lot of fun checking these out.
I'm listening to "Electric Worry" by Clutch and it sounds aboustely amazing. Any albums to reccomend?
It's on From Beale Street To Oblivion...can't go wrong starting there. Then go to Robot Hive/Exodus and Blast Tyrant. Their last three albums are the bluesiest and you'll work back from there.
And I'm not living this life without you, I'm selfish and clear
And you're not leaving here without me, I don't wanna be without
My best... friend. Wake up, to see you could have it all
Wolfmother -- zep knockoff
Paul Butterfield Blues Band -- great chicago blues, fucking great
Ellmore James -- great chicago blues, fucking great
"Worse than traitors in arms are the men who pretend loyalty to the flag, feast and fatten on the misfortunes of the nation while patriotic blood is crimsoning the plains." -- Abraham Lincoln
Another one I just remembered would be Earl Greyhound. Chris Cornell and Waren Haynes were both after them to open for them. Another shit hot trio. They bounce between Zeppelin style guitar rock and occasional Beatles style tunes. Killer guitar tone all over the album too, real thick sounding.

I was listening to Sirius Blues today while riding around and they were being interviewed and playing songs in the studio. I was really impressed. I was thinking of checking them out.

i couldn't agree more.
its the album that eric clapton made with duane allman. great record.
Also love Kenny Wayne Shepherd (although his newest album less bluesy than the first 3).
Can't go wrong with the Stones, and that has a bunch of blues on it.
Here's a taster.
