I strongly disagree. I did not like the sound (as compared to Love Reign O'er Me that I heard three times this tour). The ticket prices would have to go up too.

One of the most amazing shows I've seen was when Clapton toured with a 40-something piece orchestra. It was amazing.

But, PJ? Hell no. PJ don't need no stinking strings!!!!

It worked pretty well on Rock Honors though, I would never want (or desire, I should say, since I would probably still go given the chance) to see a whole concert of theirs like that
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all

It actually made me a little nauseous

    leave the overproduction for coldplay
    pearl jam with violins UGH

yeah i'd disagree too it only works for one song but I think they should do a pearl jam only who tribute tour.they cover enough who where they could play 20 songs or maybe play new ones.

I guess I am alone... oh well, I dug it. I can see everyones point about a full blown tour but I wouldn't mind one show of it. Its something different and I like when they rework the songs and arrangements.

Didn't Metallica try that once if I am not mistaken?

The violins backing the rockers reminded me of Aerosmith's "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing".

  • its cool to hear it once, but the orchestra/rock band thing is played out and i like my PJ pretty stripped down most of the time. Boom's presence is already pushing it a little.

Who are They? Metallica or what?
Ok. That was good idea to make show with orchestra (for Metallica). But once. Not duplication. Especially not by PJ.

How about a tour with backup singers!?! :)

I loved the stings and horns.

I think a tour would be silly...but I have no problem with PJ playing shows like that every once and a while. I thought it was badass!

If Michael Kamen was still alive I would have loved to have seen a collaboration between him and Pearl Jam.

It works on The Who songs that they played at Rock Honors because the original recordings of those songs had strings (Love) and brass (Real Me). I can't think of any pearl jam songs that would truly be enhanced by just adding orchestration.

Isn't he in Jail?? Anyway like I said, I liked and I guess I am alone on that but whatever. Maybe not a full on tour. Hey you never know this may inspire the band and write some music with some strings and horns added. Hell they added back up singers.
