Let Me Be.. by.. Xavier Rudd - dig this:

Time and time and time we see
these acts against humanity
each for each and each will bleed
and shed blood for what they each believe...

red hot lyrics accompaning red hot music...
You may conquer a sword but you are conquered by a kiss...

sunday bloody sunday- the mighty U2
    Monty Got a Raw Deal

" makes much more sense to live in the present tense "
  • When the president talks to god- Bright Eyes

its free on itunes you should really download it and give it a listen
"Alcoholism is a disease. But it's, like, the only disease you can get yelled at for havin'. Damnit, Otto! You're an alcoholic! Damnit, Otto, you have LUPUS!"
    Mitch Hedberg (RIP)
  • As far as political songs go, I love Oliver's Army by Elvis Costello.

Truly one of the great political songs and Costello just tears it up on that song. This one stanza of the song makes it legendary on its own, but the whole song is incredible.

    There was a Checkpoint Charlie
    He didn't crack a smile
    But it's no laughing party
When you've been on the Murder Mile
    Only takes one itchy trigger
    One more widow
    One less white nigger
    one foot in the door
the other foot in the gutter
    sweet smell that they adore
    I think I'd rather smother

Great Song!!!!! Prehaps one of the best protest songs from the last decade!!!!

One of the best political/protest songs of all time is "Biko" by Peter Gabriel with "Ohio" by CSNY a close second.
All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.
  • I don't know if this is a political song as much as it's an anti-hatred, pro-togetherness, pro-environment song, but I absolutely love this song:

    Earthmover by Tesla

Or how about Hands All Over by Soundgarden?

"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.
