is this new album being made by the original lineup?

on a side note, i've got my ticket secured for the Orlando Sebadoh show. Anyone else headed out to it. Since it's at the Social, me thinks I'm going to have to say a quick hello to Lou.

I saw them play about a month ago in London. They were the bollocks. Saw them in 1991 and they were better last time around.

  • I am enjoying the record, but it seems a bit, i dont know, kind of a bit sunny at times. Dino was never the darkest band, but the record seems a bit happier, at least J's stuff.

    still good though.

Im going to try to go to the Orlando show too, but its 18 plus which means i have to bring my dad. Did you go to Dino Jr in Tampa?

Man I jsut got this yesterday and it is really good. J has some choice licks and sounds very lively on the album. i've only listened to it 1.5 times but it rocks and has some good slower songs too!

It is like they never missed a beat!

I love it. One of the best guitar albums I've heard in a while. Honestly, I don't think it's that different stylistically from the J Mascis and the Fog albums. I think those are great albums, so that's not a problem to me. I do think the songs are tighter on Beyond than on those albums, though. I also really like Lou's 2 songs. They give the album a differrent flavor, but don't sound at all out of place. Great to hear Murph rockin the drums again.

They are going to be in Toronto when I'm there.

I want to go sooo bad. But:

    The show age is 19. I'm 18.

    Fucking Canadian rules.
They're gonna tell you where to walk
When to smile and just what to say
They say have your own fun...

    Need vinyl, doggs.

This is a really, really brilliant album....I've been listening to it loads since Monday.

Like someone else said, its like they never missed a beat......all the qualities that make Dino great are here...the buzzsaw guitars, J's strung out voice.....it's brilliant.

I went to go buy this today, but no stores in Calgary have it yet. HMV, Best Buy, and Future Shop all told me they have the album on order, but their shipments are late. So annoying.
"I try my best to chug, stomp, weep, whisper, moan, wheeze, scat, blurt, rage, whine, and seduce. With my voice I can sound like a girl, the boogieman, a Theremin, a cherry bomb, a clown, a doctor, a murderer. I can be tribal. Ironic. Or disturbed. My voice is really my instrument."
