The Strokes and Motown?

I just heard the Strokes/ Ed Vedder cover of Marvin Gaye's Mercy, Mercy Me, and I think the Strokes have enough musical ability to both "play" and "perform" songs like these. I think they should do more covers/ original pieces like this, it works very well into their style, and even record a whole album or ep. It would both sound great and, I think, sell like hot cakes.

I honestly think Ed had alot to do with that.
    To answer your question, yes.
But listen to the motown song pj did someday at xmas. It has the same feel on the guitars, and actually is a tad better, but the strokes cover is great, I just dont really focus on their work just Ed, and for some reason wonder why pj just didnt do it.

    Good thread.
