The new Roots CD is sick. A lot different than their last one which shows how much they can change up their style.

Best songs:
Get Busy
I Will Not Apologize
I Can't Help It

Go get this.

its a shame that on one seems to like the roots on this message board.

you might categorize them as rap but honestly these guys "rock out" harder onstage than a lot of groups out there today.

Great album, a little too much Dice Raw if you ask me. Game Theory > Rising Down.

I've read impressions from people who are primarily rap fans that really slammed this album. I've been meaning to pick it up since Tuesday but I haven't had the time, I'm looking forward to hearing it. They've really done no wrong since Things Fall Apart(never heard anything before that), a great band.

    My Roots Album Rankings:

    1. Things Fall Apart
    2. Game Theory
    3. Illadelph Halflife
    4. Do You Want More?!?!
    5. Phrenology
    6. Tipping Point
    7. Rising Down
    8. Organix

Excluding pre-Things Fall Apart albums(which I haven't heard), here is my list:

    1. The Tipping Point(why does nobody like this? It is so loose and fun, it is easily their most enjoyable album, even if it may not be the best in terms of raps and beats)

    2. Things Fall Apart
    3. Game Theory
    4. Phrenology
    5. Rising Down

Having listened to Rising Down a few times, I think there are too many guests. I don't think Black Thought rhymes more than one verse on most songs. I have only listened to it a few times, so I reserve the right to change judgement, but so far it is good, but not up to the level of their recent albums.

Your review is how I feel about it. Tipping Point isn't a bad album by any means. It's just the other albums are that much better I think :)

Honestly I feel like Black Thought was out of rhymes after 75 bars so they needed so many guests lol.
