    The lead singer of Filter (I forget his name) has explicitly said that the song is NOT about Cobain, at all.

    The song is supposedly about a Pennsylvania politician who shot himself dead on public t.v. some years ago.

    that doesn't make sense...after that happened, the movement fizzled...and copycats acts followed...trying to live up, but the movement was dead so no one looked.

    this is correct, I've seen that video. it was on one of those "Faces of Death" videos.

    it's actually pretty cool idea for a guy that was going to off himself.....if I remember correctly, he was accused of some kind of misuse of public office or something. so he calls a press conference before all his accusers, etc, calmly pulls out the pistol and blows his brains out.......an image that will haunt his accusers forever. so basically, he got revenge on his accusers....nice shot, man.
