I'm pretty sure Echoes knew that was Layne. He was just suiting long hair isn't him at his best, and I agree.

Well, Michael died. They had 5 guys in that band who are good musicians and wanted to continue. I know Hutchence was a huge presence but if it's a band and not a singer I would like to see the original guys continue.

Same goes for Alice In Chains. I love that they are touring and playing all the Alice In Chains songs. They have great songs that should not remain on the shelf while bands like Staind cover them in concert.
