Kick ass first half....not so kick ass second half. Listened to it yesterday in its entirety and this was the best comparison I could make.
I would have to partially agree. The first half is definitely kick ass. I would totally agree if Wasted Reprise, Comeback, and Inside Job were not included in the second half. Gone, Army Reserve, Big Wave, and especially Unemployable are songs that I feel should have never made the album.
Agreed. Avocado has Come Back & Inside Job and FMJ has the prositute scene, the second sergeant scene ("What is that supposed to be, some kind of sick joke! Answer now or stand tall before the man!"), Animal Mother, etc. So so wrong.
to me it's like two films. I like the first film and watch it suprisingly often. the second film is like heyfoxymophandlethat'sme. I almost always skip it, when I don't, I remember why I do.
so, if any PJ album is like FMJ, it's Vitology.
but to your credit, your analogy was spot on in terms of illustrating your point...

However I do agree about full metal jacket.

even if I have a diametricly opposed viewpoint.
