There is an article in the Times, or at least on the website, about Seattle as a sports town and how it is really suffering right now. I will post the link, but you may have to sign up to read it....

The mentions of Jeff are...
"Jeff Ament, the Pearl Jam bassist with a new solo album, recently traveled to Portland to watch his friend, Houston Rockets guard Brent Barry, play against the Trail Blazers. "
"Ament, who lived across the street from the center for 13 years and ranks it low among music venues but just fine for basketball, said, “The future of Seattle Center is really grim right now.”"
words seem so out of place.
